A few minutes away is Arakura Shrine, where you begin the walk up to the Chureito Pagoda. The climb is steep but short, and the view from the pagoda is one of the region’s most iconic Fuji sights.
Continue your drive to the Fujisan Yume No Ōhashi Bridge, known for its long staircase and open view of the mountain. After a quick stop, head to Lawson Fujikawaguchiko Station Mae, the famous Lawson with Fuji in the backdrop—ideal for snacks or breakfast.
By mid-morning, drive to the Northern Shore of Lake Kawaguchiko for calm lakeside views, then continue to Yagisaki Park, a peaceful floral park with clear Fuji views across the water.
Around noon, stop at The Park Café nearby for a short break and light meal before continuing deeper into the lakes area. Optional but highly recommended is Saiko Iyashi no Sato Nenba, a traditional thatched-roof village with stunning Fuji angles and craft shops.
Early afternoon, head to Shiraito Falls, about 55 minutes away. This area requires a fair amount of walking and stairs but rewards you with one of the most beautiful waterfalls in Japan—wide, silky streams flowing down mossy cliffs.
Your final stop is Makaino Farm, known for its hillside swings and chairs facing Mt. Fuji. It’s a great relaxing finish to the day with open landscapes and photo spots.
After enjoying the last views, begin the drive back home around 6:30 PM, returning around 8:30 PM, depending on traffic.
Japanese Car Culture & Return
8:00 PM — Daikoku Parking Area

10:00 PM — Return the Car & Head Home
Drive back to the rental location, drop off the car, then take the train home. It’s an early finish because the next day starts early again, giving you time to rest and recharge.
